Operator Qualifications
The Operator Qualification rule was adopted into the Code of Federal Regulations under Subpart N in 49 CFR Part 192 and Subpart G in 49 CFR Part 195. Under the rule, each pipeline operator is responsible for developing an OQ program, following their written OQ plan, establishing a covered task list applicable to their system, and defining the training and qualification requirements for personnel performing covered tasks on their pipeline facility. It is the operator's responsibility to ensure their contractors and vendors comply with their program requirements. The intent of the OQ rule is to minimize human error by establishing a verifiable and qualified workforce.
Our Role in OQ Compliance
Coastal Safety helps pipeline contractors with easing the burden of keeping their employee’s Operator Qualifications (OQ) in compliance. We are licensed providers for OQSG & Veriforce that are accepted by the vast majority of pipeline operators in the USA. Coastal Safety has proctors & evaluators for nearly every covered task that is required for pipeline work.

Well Control Training
The goal of your well control training program must be safe and clean operations. To accomplish this, you must ensure that your employees and contract personnel engaged in well control operations understand and can properly perform their duties.
Our Partnership
Coastal Safety has partnered with Well Control School (WCS) to make sure our client's employees are trained to competently perform their assigned well control duties. Our client's training plan must verify employee understanding and performance.
Our Accredited Certification Courses
Through our partnership, Coastal Safety is able to offer our clients WCS's IADC (International Association of Drilling Contractors) WellCAP® certification courses which are globally recognized well control accreditation program that develops curriculum guidelines for drilling and well servicing operations.

WCS also allows us to offer their IADC-accredited computer-based well control training program with its System 21e-Learning. WCS has accreditations with IADC WellCAP®, IADC WellSharp™, and the International Well Control Forum (IWCF).
